I can remember being on the Hutch team as a kid, just going riding with him was like, well it was confusing, I had no idea at the time what he was doing, things that spring to mind, he barely ever scuffed, he did a ton of fakie whopper stuff, even fakie half bar flip whopper, whiplash bar spin out, this weird jump lash that i am struggling to describe, but like he was tap dancing. The judges must have been confused also at a time when everyone did Kevin Jones tricks pretty much, in order, dump truck, no handed hang five, hitchhiker, backpacker. Whos got any Larry footage? Someone must have some.

At alot of contests me and Larry would go off and ride together away from everyone else. He would always blow me away and at the same time push me to be original. A good friend and team mate. I also was lucky enough to get one of the few beyond frames he made. Webb was a bad ass!!

flatmatters said...

Yes John, Webb was a beast! So aggressive, he destroyed all that rollback rope-a-roni stuff, multiple flails, backwards decades out of combos, going to have a search...

Webb was way ahead of a lot of guys at the time 91 era lets not forget 5 handgliders ( flail without touching the frame ) you know it guys ,too good.

Howard, Colin told me he didn't mind riding by himself for 10 years but didn't want to ride by himself for another 10 :-) he lives on Shetland Island and was the only Flatlander there ever.
I still wanna ride again I hope it happens...
