Adam vs Joris Circle Cow 12

This seems to be the battle everyone is talking about from this weekends Circle Cow Contest in Servon, France, Joris won. Whats done is done, but Who do you think won and why?

I dont see much debate in this one, Adam won that battle, Joris was good but lacking variety to beat Adam.

why is that? Joris only did backwheel, that doesn't mean the lack of variety. Adam did only two combos: a backwheel combo with two switches and an orig spin and a frontwheel combo which was nicely ended with a boomerang. He tried that twice and thats all! Joris did banger combos with a LOTS OF switches! Joris's first combo was quiet long with about 6 switches! Second combo with 4 upside down bikevarials banger with very nice caboose varieties! On his 3rd combo he did a nice caboose to bikevarial and tried an orig pedal stuff, there wasn't even a 3rd for adam because he tried his 2nd combo twice.

Just an initial reaction John! I haven't analysed it to the degree you have, I just watched it once, and my gut reaction was Adam. Joris' first combo was tight, but after that the concepts were all very similar, perhaps I judged too quickly, like a judge has to, never easy! What do others think!?

i watched it 3 times and thought joris totally deserved to win

I would have hated to judge this, Joris touches 3 times, and takes another go on the 2nd run, and continues after touching on the 3rd, Adam touches once, second combo. Im not aware of the rules of that contest, so, its hard to comment on it.
Perhaps it is closer than I initially thought, I don't see a clear winner tho. So then you get into originality, it is tight.

Joris wins hands down in my book. Sick trix!

Joris so far seems to be clear winner with you guys, did Adam under estimate his opponent?

Adam is able to do a lot of hard tricks and during the battle he only did "basic" tricks (for him) to beat joris, but joris pull hard tricks in the second link and on the first link it's tight between joris and adam. Very difficult to judge this but during the battle Joris was very motivated ! Lot of stabble in one combo ! He won for me.

Based on global-flat forum I think it is just difficult to admit that Masters's champion and people's role model knocked out so soon by a noname(compared to pros) rider! 9/10 judges would have choose adam to move on because of he is a champion and knowing all his stuff from his videos. I would give the judges some respect about bravery because they dared to be objective and choose the other one. No question it was close. Touches are overrated in my opinion, i would only deduct points if Joris would have touched while his combos. But he did 2 perfect combos, i don't care if he runs a circle before his run. Their tricks matters more than their faults! Joris did more. On the other hand I think adam is a greater rider, but people has to know that randomly compare 2 minutes slice from two riders life's can eventuate anything.

Good points John, you think he under estimated Joris? I did only watch that video once before I posted that comment, perhaps that was a fault, but some interesting discussion to come of it!

No problem Effraim! I think such a short time is given to the riders and they have to focus on themselves, they can't even realize what is happening. So I think Adam was just going with the flow and didn't count the score, so he didn't do one of his bangers. But yes, maybe he tried to beat matthias and didn't expect that he will have to prove on that run.

I can say this through experience, battles are horrible to judge! Especially when its a really tight decision, you don't have time to restudy the details.

the flatland is subjective but..
original vs. copy(Joris great rider but raphael tricks...) = win copy
hmm :) is it a good way for the flatland in the future?
is it good for the young riders to see this?

@nd.
that is a hard point you make, because maybe thats why flat is so small, some guys are happy to just do whatever, look at street and park riding for example, it can get very tedious.Within every sport there are always artists pushing, and there are always followers trying to get to that level.
